After years of service in the public sector at Ayder Comprehensive Specialized Hospital and several top dental health centers in Addis Ababa, he gained critical experience managing complex cases and delivering care where it was needed most. He also serves as an Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics and Implantology at Mekelle University, where he teaches and mentors residents.
To pair local impact with global expertise, Dr. Ashenafi trained in Italy, United Kingdom, India, Dubai, and Sri Lanka, learning cutting-edge implantology, prosthodontics, and digital dentistry from world leaders. Today, as Founder and CEO of TrueCare Dental and Implant Center, he brings these skills home, introducing advanced surgical and restorative solutions that are transforming patient care in Ethiopia.
Clinical focus. Dr. Ashenafi is a Prosthodontist and Implantologist with deep expertise in full-arch implant rehabilitation, complex oral reconstruction, and smile design. Alongside his clinical practice, he serves as a Consultant Implantologist across multiple leading clinics in Rwanda and Uganda, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-level implant care across borders. Most notably, he represented Ethiopia at the World Dental Conference held on November 27–28 in Bangkok, Thailand. His participation on this global stage earned him honorable mentions from Edpa Ethiopia (Ethiopian Dental Professionals Association) and Hakim, recognizing his role in elevating the profile of Ethiopian dentistry internationally. He has also conducted training at King Faisal Hospital in Rwanda, contributing to skills development and collaborative learning across the region.
